Es uno de los trastornos neurol\u00f3gicos m\u00e1s comunes y causas de discapacidad en adultos j\u00f3venes. A la mayor\u00eda de los afectados se les diagnostica entre los 25 y los 31 a\u00f1os de edad, siendo el n\u00famero de mujeres afectadas el doble que el de hombres. Las causas de la EM no se conoce todav\u00eda y a\u00fan no existe una cura, aunque existen tratamientos disponibles que pueden ayudar a mejorar los s\u00edntomas. Algunos de los s\u00edntomas son visi\u00f3n borrosa, extremidades fr\u00e1giles, sensaci\u00f3n de hormigueo, inestabilidad, problemas de memoria y fatiga.
